Old Lady of Threadneedle Street
When I was very young my Aunty Maggie would regularly tell me stories about the “Old Lady of Threadneedle Street” (The Bank of England). Somehow she weaved the City into her stories whilst having me believe that the “Old Lady….” was a kind old soul who sewed and knitted!
